The Arkansas Repertory Theatre, affectionately known by locals as “The Rep,” is the longest-running, nonprofit resident theater in Arkansas. The Weekend Theater is a non-profit theatrical community that produces socially significant plays for the Central Arkansas community. A unique black-box theater at the corner of 7th and Chester Streets in Little Rock, Arkansas, audiences can enjoy the intimacy of the small theater in a wonderful, comfortably remodeled theater house. The Weekend Theater has a variety of drama, musicals and other entertainment—they are also willing to take risks and perform more edgy theatre than commercial competitors. The historic Robinson Center has been the venue of choice for traveling Broadway shows, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and an array of performing artists. It is also a preferred location for meetings and events of all types in Little Rock.
